ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Rotary Youth Driver Awareness Program

Sponsored by Rotary throughout New Zealand and Australia, students from Year 11 spend one day undertaking a comprehensive course in the theory and learning what the consequences of bad decisions can be. This past year the program has been presented to 5,500 students and 50,000 in the 9 years that the program has been in New Zealand.

Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children
This programme provides medical treatment for children from developing countries in the form of life saving and/or dignity restoring surgery not accessible in their own country. Medical staff, including surgeons, donate their time to treat these children but there are many costs to bring them to New Zealand.

National burn centre
Over the past year we have provided Rehab Equipment and allocated funds for Continuing Education Purposes. The National Burn Unit is a teaching facility which provides workshops for General Practitioners and professionals from other District Health Boards. As well as providing internship training for staff from other Regional Burn Units.

Rotary youth program of enrichment
Provides a residential weekend seminar for 80 students aged 14 – 17 to form their own values and moral standards, to broaden their horizons culturally and socially and to help them become better citizens. Students come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.

Polio plus
In 1988, Rotary was joined in the effort by the World Health Organisation, the U.S. Centre for Disease Control, UNICEF and the Gates Foundation) to create the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Over the past 30 years Polio has reduced from 350,000 cases in 125 countries per year to fewer than 40 cases in only Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria.

Rotary Club of Papakura Charitable Trust
The Trust searches for and seeks out youth in our community who require assistance to attend  courses, need assistance at difficult times or want to attend one of the many Rotary Youth Programmes. For example:

- Scholarships. Each year the Trust supports students in their first year at University and in 2017 year seven students from Papakura Schools were awarded Rotary Scholarships.

- Exchange Students between the ages of 16 and 18 from other countries and New Zealand spend a year participating in the family, academic and community life of another country for a year. Our club regularly hosts students from overseas and also sends students away on exchange.

- Dictionaries in Schools where year six students in Decile 1 Schools are given a dictionary.

-Rotary Youth Leadership Award is another leadership programme which puts promising youth who have evidenced leadership qualities in a week long live in programme. This provides balanced lectures by industry leaders and experts on a wide range of topics to equip participants to better serve their community and country.

THE TEAM BEHIND THE NZ MOTORCYCLE SHOW

Over the past 2 decades, the Premier Events/4 & Rotary Promotions has been one of Australasia’s leading Automotive and Lifestyle event company.

In 2017 we were approached by the Papakura Rotary Club to put a fresh new spin on the NZ Motorcycle Show while keeping the same values that it stands for.

We know and understand the automotive and lifestyle scene, and most importantly, we know how to produce events that make this industry attractive. It’s this kind of controlled approach to our business that has positioned us as the leading event of it’s kind.

DEMOGRAPHIC

Age Gorup: 65% 40 years or over, 35% 40 years or younger.
Gender: 60% Male, 40% Female.

We generally see around 2/3rds of all attendee’s in the over 40’s bracket, with 60% being Males.

Our goal is to continue the steady incline of spectators, while increasing the younger demographic. We will do this by focusing more on the Dirt and Custom Bike side of the event, while still adding in all the old favourites from previous years. There will be more entertainment for children to encourage families to come along, plus with the potential addition of the Action Arena, it’s sure to be a big hit with both young and old!

NOT YOUR AVERAGE MOTORCYCLE SHOW

Motorcycle Displays

Here’s were we find the best of the best when it comes to Motorcycles in New Zealand! There’s a huge range of categories, prizes and trophies up for grabs. Entrants are encouraged to display their vehicles which is open to all makes and models, including highly modified machines or stock standard classic bikes.

Clubs
Motorcycle Clubs are always a big part of our show and we can’t wait to invite them all back! Clubs have their own dedicated show area.

Motorcycle Alley
A personal highlight for us is the Motorcycle Alley. Spectators are encouraged to bring their bikes along and fill up the main alley at the ASB Showgrounds. We’ve had over 1000+ bikes there in previous years and want to see even more in 2020.

Manufacturers
As always, we’ll have all the biggest motorcycle manufacturers showing of their latest and greatest bikes and merchandise. Find out what’s new with all your favourite bike brands.

Riding Gear
After a new helmet? Leathers or accessories? Make sure you check out all the stalls and pick yourself up a show bargain.

Rider Training
Ride Forever is once again the naming rights sponsor for 2020 so you can expect plenty of rider training/advice and talks to improve your riding.

Parts & Servicing
A big part of every bike is the parts, servicing and maintenance behind the scenes. At the show we can expect to find all the best and most trusted workshops around willing to offer help, tips and show special prices.

Food and Drink
We know bikers can have an appetite so we’ll have the best food and drink vendors ready to serve.

Charity
As always, the NZ Motorcycle Show is a charitable fund raising event with all profits going back to the community.
